Tariffs & Financing
Who pays for what?
The financing of home care services (Spitex) is clearly regulated in Switzerland. Different funding bodies are responsible depending on the type of service.
Health insurance (basic insurance)
Costs the costs of medically prescribed nursing care services (categories A, B, C) minus the deductible and co-payment.
Canton/Municipality
Costs a portion of the nursing care costs through residual financing.
Patient
Patient pays a patient contribution (max. CHF 15.95/day) as well as the costs for housekeeping and support services.
Supplementary benefits (EL)
Additional costs may be covered if supplementary benefits are received.
